Fees and Session Information

We are open for 38 weeks of the year. We are not open during school holidays – our term times follow that of Central Bedfordshire Council.

Ickwell Pre-School opens from 8:15am to 4:15pm Monday to Thursday and until 3:15pm on Friday. Our session structure and prices are as follows:

Morning club	8:15 – 9:15	£6.50
Morning session	9:15 – 12:15	See session prices below
Lunch club	12:15 – 13:00	£4.50
Afternoon session	12:15 – 15:15	See session prices below
Twilight club	15:15 – 16:15	£6.50 per hour

Morning, Lunch and Twilight club sessions are available to book on an ad-hoc basis dependent on availability.

Unfunded Three Hour Sessions (full-fee paying 2 Year olds)

£18.00/session

There will be an additional charge of £4.50 per session to cover the cost of consumables and extra services.

Unfunded Sessions (full-fee paying 3 & 4 Year olds)

£16.98/session

There will be an additional charge of £4.50 per session to cover the cost of consumables and extra services.

Funded Sessions (Government Funded) When you take up a funded place, only the hours of care and education are funded. There will be an additional charge of £4.50 per session to cover the cost of consumables and extra services.

Consumables and Extra Services’ covers – healthy snack food; cooking/baking ingredients and resources; craft supplies; sensory/messy play resources. This list is not exhaustive.

Fees are reviewed annually.

Pre-school fees are payable a month in advance by BACS. Invoices will be issued via email in advance on, the first working day of the month and payment is due immediately. Late payment of fees will incur a charge of £10 triggered at 7 days, 14 days and 21 days past due date. If your invoice has not been paid by the end of the month, your child will not be able to attend Pre-school until full payment has been received.

A late collection charge of £15 applies for all sessions.

An administrative charge of £25 is applicate to all new starters and must be paid on registration to secure your child’s place. You will receive a free Pre-school t-shirt.

The Pre-school accept childcare vouchers. Please note that fees are still due, even when your child is unable to attend for any reason e.g., sickness, holidays. Fees will also remain payable if the Pre-school is forced to close due to situations beyond our control (snow, power failure etc) and where we incur charges (village hall hire). All absences from Ickwell Pre-school need to be notified to a member of staff such as holidays and sickness. Failure to notify us of these absences will be recorded as unauthorised. Any unauthorised absences for funded children will unfortunately see Pre-school charge these sessions to parents as we have to pay this funding back to Central Bedfordshire Council.

Should you no longer require a place for your child, one month’s termination notice will be required. This should be made in writing to the Manager of the setting and all outstanding fees must be paid.
