Each child will have their own named coat peg and on arrival be encouraged to find their name and put it up on our registration board. The children then have access to the two inside rooms where a range of activities are available, e.g. role play, messy play, mark making, book corner, small world, sand, maths area and many more! The Pre-school is very well equipped with a vast range of resources enabling us to offer an exciting environment for our children. We offer child initiated play with some adult initiated and adult led activities. When all the children have arrived, staff will open the access to the outside play area to enable children to have the freedom to play outside as and when they wish. The outside activities are also varied and compliment all that is available inside e.g. role play, small world, physical, mark making. A healthy snack plus a drink of either water or milk is available during the session. During the course of the session we incorporate small and whole group activities, such as music, singing, movement, stories, games, walks and visits to the green.
Throughout the year we look at different themes, topics and celebrations and where possible we will try to offer the children hand on experiences. For example when looking at “People that help us” we were lucky enough to have a fire engine and crew visit the Pre-school. We welcome visitors into the Pre-school, as we are aware that the wider community is an important part of children’s learning.
