Ickwell Pre-school

About Us

Ickwell Pre-school opened in 1963 and runs from the Ickwell Village Hall which is located in idyllic surroundings overlooking the village green. The children have access to two large main playrooms and an enclosed outside play  area, with a safety surface.

Ickwell Pre-school  provides good quality education and care for pre-school children between the ages of approximately 2 years and 5 years old.

The aim of the Pre-school is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age.

We achieve this by:

  • Promoting learning through play
  • Promoting the development of social skills
  • Promoting and supporting parents as educators.
  • Providing an early years curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of the individual child.

Every child has a key person who is responsible for settling the child into the setting, ensuring the childs learning and development is progressing, their need and interests are met and ensuring these are incorporated into the planning and their ‘next  steps’ are recorded. The key person will co ordinate the progress records and shares these with the parents.
